Athletics
Welcome to the home of the Fort Riley Middle School Troopers! I am excited to welcome our students, families, and community to our middle school sports program. Our athletic program is designed to be an extension of the classroom, where we focus on developing the whole student. While we love the thrill of competition and striving for victory, our primary mission is to instill life-long values: teamwork, integrity, resilience, and sportsmanship. Middle school athletics offer a unique opportunity for student-athletes to discover new talents, build friendships, and learn how to balance academic excellence with athletic commitment. Whether you are stepping onto the court for the very first time or cheering passionately from the stands, thank you for your incredible support of our programs. Go Troopers!

We recommend families register for all sports their student may be interested in, even if they’re unsure. Students often decide to try new sports later in the year or join no-cut teams after tryouts.

Fort Riley Middle School Athletics Information
Fort Riley Middle School is a member of the North Central Kansas Junior League. At FRMS, there are four sports seasons compared to the traditional three sports seasons offered at the high school level in Kansas. The fall and spring seasons are like the high school seasons. However, most middle schools in Kansas have a split winter season. This allows students to explore new opportunities in sports and participate in sports that they might not try in a traditional three-sports season. There is no overlap between seasons, so students do not need to worry about one season starting before another season ends.
