Agendas for next week:

Students will have a quiz over Topic A on Monday April 30. On Tuesday May 1, students will complete the iReady diagnostic assessment. Students will need to bring their charged computer for class on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. After completion of iReady, students will learn how to calculate the mean of a data set. Topic B quiz will be on Tuesday May 8.

Upon completion of Module 6, students will complete a project, and create a poster. If you are able, please have your student bring a poster board to school prior to May 17.

In science we will conclude our chemistry unit with a test on chapter 5. We will begin our health unit on May 8th, be on the lookout for our health information letter in the mail.

This Monday (4/30) we will test over Ancient Africa. Tuesday we will start our Middle Ages Unit.

This week we will round out our discussion of Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. We will also use the flip book evidence to compose the first paragraph of our final essay. Please make sure your student has completed all signposts and conflicts for chapters 10-12 as they will be graded on Monday during class. After the write prompt is complete, we will begin discussing the life of Langston Hughes.

Students should also be completing 3 signposts and 3 conflicts for each chapter. They are worth 1 point each and act as a classwork/ homework grade.

Daily: Journal, Vocab/Spelling Words, Language Arts Handouts

Homework: Assignments not completed during class will be homework and must be completed by the start of the next class unless otherwise stated.

Information:

Students are expected to come to class prepared by bringing sharpened pencils, paper, assigned reading, journals, binders, and charged computer.

Students are responsible for taking any quiz/test or turn in assignments when they are absent. They are to talk to their teachers and set up a date and time.

Students may come in on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays before school to get help. The library is also available in the mornings for students wanting to work before school.

Don’t forget to send in your box tops! Mr. James has sheets for the students to tape 10 box tops on and turn in. If you send your box tops in, we will get them on the sheets for you!
