Parent Teacher Communication
In American History we will be covering The Kansas-Nebraska Act, Bleeding Kansas and John Brown. We will have a quiz on Thursday which will cover: abolitionists, the Underground Railroad, Slave Rebellions, Bleeding Kansas with John Brown. Quiz grades from their Slavery, Immigration and Women’s Rights Quiz have been put in the grade book. Students will be able to make correction up to full credit. They will need to make these corrections during lunch on Monday or Tuesday with Mrs. Pugh.
EnglishStudents will be reading a non-fiction article on Monday and begin thinking about the question “what shapes our morality”? The rest of the week will be devoted to brainstorming and writing an essay covering this topic. It is worth a lot of points for this grading period.
Continuing Volume of Cones, Cylinders and Spheres. (Homework most nights)
Quiz (Possibly Wednesday, maybe Thursday).
Starting Exponents and Rules of Exponents (Multiplying, Dividing, Negative Exponents).
Algebra (Ms. Waugh) –
Data collection, scatterplots, line of best fit, prediction models, using technology to calculate least squares regression lines.
Quiz Friday, Feb 2.
Monday – Wednesday we are beginning chapter 2 – Photosynthesis. Students will be responsible for notes in class and a lab on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday we will be covering respiration. There will most likely be a bell work quiz on Friday.

Don’t forget to send in your box tops! Mr. Barstow has sheets for the students to tape 10 box tops on and turn in. If you send your box tops in, we will get them on the sheets for you!
